Edvard Moser and May-Britt Moser lead the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience in Trondheim, Norway. In 2014 they received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

Weijian Zong is a researcher at the Kavli Institute for Systems neuroscience where his main research interests are bio-imaging, neuroscience, neuronal computation.


The Mini2P-Sacrificial connector v1 is a lightweight and compact solution designed to enhance the longevity of the Mini2P miniscope, a 2-photon device used for large-scale calcium imaging in freely moving mice.

EXPERIMENTAL CAPABILITIES

This tiny and ultralight 6-position FPC/FFC connector serves as a connection between the 2.5-meter-long electric wire bundle and the scope body.

Due to the fragile nature of the connector and the necessity of routine detachments, its eventual breakage is inevitable. To address this issue, the Mini2P-Sacrificial connector v1 acts as a minimalistic interconnector. It attaches to an identical connector at the 2.5-meter cable site and remains connected until it breaks. By utilizing this sacrificial piece, the fragile connector on the 2.5-meter cable is rarely used, while the sacrificial connector can be easily replaced.
