BlueBerry OptoLED (Pack of 5)

BlueBerry is a lightweight, battery-powered wireless optogenetics platform for closed-loop neural stimulation in freely moving animals. By combining wearable electronics, programmable optical stimulation (1 or 2 LEDs), and real-time behavioural feedback, BlueBerry enables precise manipulation of neural circuits without the constraints of tethered systems. This open-source platform, provides researchers with a flexible and scalable solution for behavioural neuroscience experiments.

The BlueBerry OptoLED is an optical stimulation component designed for deep-brain optogenetic experiments. It connects the BlueBerry wearable module to one or two implanted fiber-optic cannulas and delivers light stimulation through the implanted optical fiber.

The assembly consists of an LED integrated into a T-shaped holder and connected via 2 cm flexible cables to the BlueBerry module connector.

The Implant Holder Assembly supports:

• 1- or 2-channel optogenetic brain stimulation
• Wireless experiments in freely moving mice
• Closed-loop stimulation triggered by behavioural events
• Social interaction studies and multi-animal experiments
• Programmable optical stimulation through implanted optical fibers

• Integrated LED light source: 3.5 × 2.5 mm
• Designed for deep-brain optogenetic stimulation
• Available for Ø1.25 mm or Ø2.5 mm ferrule configurations
• Compatible with the BlueBerry wearable module
• Compact design suitable for freely moving animal experiments
• Part of the open-source BlueBerry platform

• 5 × OptoLEDs with 3D-printed Implant Holders: Each unit features an integrated blue LED (467 nm), a height of 6 mm, a ferrule interface in the selected diameter (Ø 1.25 mm or Ø 2.5 mm), and a 2 cm cable.

NOT included:

• Fiber-optic cannula

Compatible fiber-optic cannulas with 1.25 mm or 2.5 mm ferrules, along with suitable optical fibers, can be easily sourced from commercial suppliers such as Doric Lenses or Thorlabs.

Orders from our first production batch will be dispatched in mid-January 2027.
