BlueBerry Module (Pack of 3)

BlueBerry is a lightweight, battery-powered wireless optogenetics platform for closed-loop neural stimulation in freely moving animals. By combining wearable electronics, programmable optical stimulation (1 or 2 LEDs), and real-time behavioural feedback, BlueBerry enables precise manipulation of neural circuits without the constraints of tethered systems. This open-source platform, provides researchers with a flexible and scalable solution for behavioural neuroscience experiments.

The BlueBerry Module is a compact, battery-powered wearable device for wireless optogenetic stimulation in freely moving mice. It receives commands from the BlueHub and provides programmable control of a single stimulation channel.

When used with compatible control and stimulation components, the BlueBerry Module supports:

• Optogenetic stimulation in freely moving mice
• Closed-loop stimulation triggered by behavioural events
• Social interaction studies and multi-animal experiments
• Integration with behavioural tracking and experimental-control software
• Synchronized stimulation alongside external fiber-photometry systems

• Wireless, battery-powered operation
• Compact and lightweight wearable design
• Approximate weight: 1.4 g
• Dimensions: 14 (H) x 15 (L) x 10 mm (W)
• Equipped with an ATtiny85 microcontroller and bluetooth module
• Designed to support experiments with multiple freely interacting animals
• Open-source hardware, firmware, and software

• 3× BlueBerry Modules: Wearable, PCB-based device equipped with a fixed, rechargeable coin-cell battery

Orders from our first production batch will be dispatched in mid-January 2027.
