Founding developer Thomas Akam

Thomas Akam is a neuroscientist at the Oxford University Department of Experimental Psychology. He is the lead developer on the @pyControl and @pyPhotometry open source projects. Their development began while working at the Champalimaud Neuroscience Program. pyControl is used by labs in institutions around the world for controlling behavioral experiments in neuroscience and psychology.

 


Rotary Encoder Board

Part of the pyControl behavioural experimental system

The adapter board connects an Avago HEDM-55xx series rotary encoder (datasheet) with a pyControl behaviour port, to measure the velocity or position of a running wheel, treadmill, disk etc . The rotary encoder itself is not included as they come in a variety of different models suitable for different applications, differentiated by shaft diameter and resolution See more
