The RHD2164 amplifier board is a front-end module that connects to and works automatically with the Multichannel Electrophysiology Acquisition Board and the Open Ephys GUI to allow you to record biopotential signals from up to 64 low-noise amplifier channels. It uses the revolutionary RHD2000 series digital electrophysiology chips from Intan Technologies, a guarantee for success.
Each amplifier board contains a RHD2164 amplifier chip, a 12-pin Omnetics polarized nano connector that mates with an SPI interface cable, and two 36-pin Omnetics nano strip connectors to mate with 64 recording electrodes.
Each amplifier board has the following capabilities:
The RHD2164 64-channel amplifier board has 64 amplifier channels with unipolar inputs and a common reference electrode input. This electrode configuration is often used with implanted microelectrodes that have one low-impedance reference wire and a large number of high-impedance recording sites.
Each amplifier board measures 22 mm x 14 mm with a maximum thickness of 4.7 mm and weighs 1.3 grams.
The dual 36-pin Omnetics electrode connectors of the RHD2164 64-channel amplifier board are compatible the NeuroNexus H64LP electrode connector. NeuroNexus also offers adapters between the H64LP connector and other types of electrode connectors. MicroProbes, Atlas Neuroengineering, and Cambridge NeuroTech can also make multi-channel arrays to mate with this amplifier board. The exact order of the 64 amplifier channels may differ from the numbering on a particular electrode array, but amplifier channels may be renamed and reordered in the software GUI to match any configuration.
